About

Although Avery Stewart is a rock ’n’ roller at heart, she delights in bridging genres with her music. Having grown up listening to a wide scope of artists, her sound ranges from roots rock to alternative country, and she can adapt to most any occasion.

Born and raised in Austin, Avery played classical piano, bass, and guitar throughout her adolescence. She had her first onstage experiences around the age of ten when she played bass and sang in a kids’ rock band, during which she quickly fell in love with performing. In 2021, she decided to fully embrace her trajectory as a live musician, and committed to singing and playing rhythm and lead guitar, bass, and Scruggs-style banjo.

At her core, Avery believes that music makes the hardships of day to day life a little easier to contend with. She takes great pleasure in connecting with audiences to create warm and inspiring experiences in any setting. She’ll cover anything from Dolly Parton to the Rolling Stones to Nirvana, putting her distinctive alt-Americana spin on each song. Most importantly, she’ll bring a friendly smile to your face.

Avery plays bass with Austin psychedelic rock band Goth Dylan, contributing both lead and background vocals. Additionally, she provides instrumental and vocal accompaniment for a number of songwriters, including Sidney Kenley, Amethyst Jonquille, Joy Melan, Andrew Savage, and Lizzie Budin.

This month (March 2026), Avery is listening to: MJ Lenderman’s Manning Fireworks, Funkadelic’s Maggot Brain, and lots of Rilo Kiley.
